Filming Difficulties
On the date we had selected to film, the weather forecast predicted heavy downpours of snow. This made filming hard because not only would it effect our shots, but also effect the travelling to the location. It also increases the risk of accident due to the icy cold surfaces. This meant we had to postpone filming to a later date

Shot Lists
Before filming started, we discussed what kind of shots we will use that will be most beneifical to the success of our video. Firstly, we decided we will have a scene which has a low-angle shot. This gives the artist a position of power, stating his authority not only from his hometown, and also the music scene. We also wanted the video to consist of a lot of close ups of the artists face. This is a marketing ploy, allowing the artists face to be recognised by a wider audience. This familarises the public with the artist, and can lead to greater record sales.
Our favourite idea was that of including a tracking shot. This would mean that the artist is followed with the camera around the estate throughout parts of the video. We beleived that this fitted the idea of the song, the fact that there is a 'Transition' from one medium to another. This is the reason for the flowing movement of the tracking shot.

Roles for filming
We have decided that I should play the role of the artist in the video, because I am the most confident with the lyrics of the song. Fabyan will be the camerman, and we will both have inputs in the directing of the visual.

Setting
The chosen genre for our music video is UK hip-hop. this traditionally involves young males, and is typically affiliated with a 'street' culture. With this in mind, we chose to shoot our video on an estate in Roundhsaw. This location allowed us to create the impression that this is the sort of environemnt the artist would have grown up in, and is tracing back to his origins. Using this area, it also allowed us to include shots such as grafitti-sprayed walls, which further creates the effect or an urban culture.

Song Research: The Artist
My partner and I have decided to create a video for the song 'Transition', originally by the artist Chipmunk. For our video, we have changed the name of the artist to 'Mike Bauer', a play on the surname of star Jack Bauer in the hit TV series '24'.

Song Rights
In order to use the chosen song for our project, we had to make an effort to get in touch with the artist to obtain rights to use the song. We chose to get in contact through Twitter, as we knew that the artist was a regular user of the social network. This allowed us to gain his approval to use the track
