Album Cover
This is my album cover for 'Mike Bauer - Transition
3 of the images used are taken in front of a green screen using an iPhone camera. This was used because it was the best quality camera that we had available to us. It was then edited on Adobe Photoshop, with the saturation being the main tool that we used in order to make the 'transition' effect.
Front
The front image shows 3 images of the artist on the front. The images are close up views of the artists face. This is intended to once more familarise the public with the artist, and make him more recognisable. We gave each individual image a different saturation effect. The first image has 25% saturation, the middle 50% and the final one 75%. This created the effect that artist was moving, relating to the meaning of 'Transition'. We then followed this up by giving each image a glow effect. This was to create the idea that this artist is a 'star in the making'.
Back
On the back, we listed the names of various other tracks that are included on the disc. This was to give the cover a greater sense of realism, and also gives it the sense that it is an EP rather than just one recording. the background image consits of the artists face within the face of the pocket watch. This was taken from the success of my first attempt to create the cover of a CD. The idea bahind this image was that of class, that the artist is moving up in the world and chieving greater things. In order to create the image, we had to cut around the thumb and remove it. We then had to saturate the image of the artist. We then put the artists image into place, followed by replacing the thumb to its original position.
Inside Cover
Here, it includes a mid shot of the artist, alongside a note from him. This was done in order to create a personal relationship between the artist and the audience, making the relationship between the 2 stronger. The font we used is called 'Hand of Sean', and we felt that it best represented the genre and characteristics of the music.
Behind Disc
This is the only image used for the digipak that wasnt taken infront of a green screen. This shot is taken from a scene in the music video that we created. We took a screen shot of the scene, and then edited it in Photoshop by tampering with the hue and black/white effect. This was just a token image used, as it will be covered by the disc.
